Professor Johnny Symons Presents a Work-In-Progress Clip from his Upcoming Feature Documentary "GET YOUR 10s" at the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD)

The film explores vogue femme dance as an expanding global phenomenon through the work of interdisciplinary artist and film co-director Rashaad Newsome. Tracing the lives of vogue performers in France, Japan, Brazil, and South Africa, the film unearths the complexities of race, sexuality, gender, globalization, and cultural appropriation. The screening is followed by a workshop with legendary vogue dancer and film subject Omari Oricci.
